With my dad out of town for the weekend, it’s my mom and I at home. Of course I miss my dad when he’s gone, but it’s nice to get some one on one time with my mom. We went out for dinner at our favorite Greek place, and I wolfed down two gyro sandwiches. We went to TJ maxx afterward to look for a chair for my dorm room, but there wasn’t anything there that I really liked. Tj maxx is a nightmare to walk around anyways, so I was happy to get out of there quick.
Tomorrow is my last shift as a mover. I’m working with some of my favorite coworkers, so I’ll get to hopefully end on a pretty high note. I was a little skeptical about working as a mover when my dad suggested it to me. I was particularly questioning the types of people I’d be working with. I figured most movers were ex convicts or under house arrest. Maybe not, or at least not at home aid. This job would’ve been miserable if not for the group of guys I worked with. That’s what I’ll miss most for sure. It’s rare that you get a job that’s essentially getting paid for goofing off.
I’m free to come back to work there next summer. That’s a long time from now. We’ll see what’s in store for me.
