Today was the rehearsal for my cousins wedding. It’s quite a bit more involved than maybe I initially thought. Hopefully I remember every step, but I’m in the middle of all the groomsmen, so I just need to know which back to watch. The wedding is taking place in a catholic cathedral, and it’s quite interesting to see how —I guess — ritualistic they are. There are very particular rules when it comes to their faith which is different from how I was raised. I was taught that faith was mostly based in a relationship with Christ.
After the reception we went to my cousins so-to-be wife’s house for dinner. The guests there were mostly her family. I feel like I’m sort of running out of family. I love my family more than anything, but to be honest, I’ve always been envious of those who have family close by. Distance makes relationships hard.
I can’t help but appreciate the beauty that is marriage. I truly, with every fiber of my being, am so excited for my cousin. What a day tomorrow will be for him — the joining of two lives! If they’re lucky, they may get a few tears out of me.
