My entire basement sink just exploded. The connection between the hot water and the faucet failed and gallons of water poored out underneath the sink. I was fortunately able to think quickly in the cacophony of rushing water, screaming mothers, and barking dogs and flip the water shutoff in the garage. Despite my best efforts, however, we still needed two dozen towels to soak everything up. Its a good thing that I was home, otherwise our basement would've turned into a pond. Fascinatingly enough, this is not the first time this has happened to this specific sink, and when it happened the first time, nobody was home. That was before we had finished the basement though, so there wasn't any real damage. I dont think this incident will lead to anything bad either, but I'm slightly concerned about the water that got underneath the island. Oh well!
