Homes

My dad got home from his three week trip to Austin, today. I'm glad to see him, but I'm about to go play some poker, so our reconnection will be short. He's back for a while now, so it's really not that big of a deal. In other words, today was the lowest cortisol move I've ever been on. Somehow, I think I may miss this job when I go back to school. It's a unique opportunity to enter the homes of people that you'd otherwise never see. People say that you can tell a lot about a person by the way their house is set up, but sometimes I think it raises more questions than anything. For example, a few weeks ago I did a move for a ~60 year old recently divorced couple. You'd think that they'd be at each other's throats the entire time, right? No. The husband and wife -- or i guess 'ex' husband and wife -- were so polite and cordial to each other that you'd think they were lifetime friends. At that age, I suppose they are. It does seem weird to give up on something like a marriage that late into your life. To do what? Find another spouse? Perhaps there is some lack of life experience barring me from fully understanding. I'm going to go play poker now.. im in a punting mood.
